PTO is a group that allows both parents and teachers the opportunity to talk about and make happen extra special things for our children – things not planned for in the school budget.

PTO funds author visits, wild reptile assemblies, Jazz Goes to School, the Telluride Repertory Theater assembly, a trip to the Colorado University campus for fifth-graders, a trip to the Natural History Museum, extra books for classrooms, and headphones for the computer lab – to  name a few.  Last year PTO helped fund the new Bear Cub logo painted on the gym wall.

PTO also is about thanking our teachers – like serving them dinner before Open House, setting up a taco bar for Parent/Teacher conferences, or leaving them small gifts during Teacher Appreciation Week.

Wild West Day

Eagle County School District’s eight elementary schools are the beneficiaries of this annual hoedown PTO/PTA fundraiser, held at the 4-Eagle Ranch. This year marks the 17th anniversary of Wild West Day, a fundraiser that is the envy of PTOs/PTAs statewide.  Each elementary school’s PTO/PTA received approximately $19,000 from last year's fundraiser.

PTO Meetings

PTO meetings are held the third Tuesday of every month (except December) in the RHES Library at 6:30p.m.  PTO provides babysitting, dinner, movie, and games for those parents needing to bring their children.
